Humans Vs. COVID-19 | Weekly Wins #2

Every day seems to be a small battle in the fight to defeat COVID-19. And yet, each day we hear new stories of the best of humanity. Stories that give us hope, stories that make us laugh, stories that remind us that we humans are still capable of love, kindness, and compassion. So, our team thought we’d highlight those “wins” each week. No matter how big or small, if it was a win for you, it was a win for us. We’ve got this.

Wins From Home

Finding Beauty At Home. We’ve been hearing quite a few fun stories on how to find the beauty in your living space (no matter how small that loft might be). One Nav.igator made redecorating a priority after her work hours were slashed. Bringing in new plants and rearranging your furniture can be the quick face lift your flat might be needing right now.

Color us Strong. For many, newfound time at home created a serious spike in energy and workout potential. Thanks to the plethora of YouTube tutorials or downloadable apps, working out from home as never been more accessible.

Walking, Our New Love Affair: For many of our Nav.igators (myself included), weekday outings were more of a necessity than an adventure. In the days of COVID, more and more of us are relying on a daily walk as an opportunity to explore our surroundings, wave to neighbors and feel that crisp Spring moisture that our skin longs for after another long winter. What’s been your favorite outing so far?

Finding New Skillzz: I have a feeling this will become a recurring topic based on the many anecdotes from Nav.igators getting seriously crafty. From perfecting the art of deviled eggs and lemon cakes to taking on new hairstyles rivaling only that of Katniss Everdeen, the human knack for creative entertainment and problem-solving is getting us all through quarantine.

Wins from Afar

Restrictions are working! New reports out this week found that these stay-at-home orders are working to curb the infection rates from Italy to Seattle. Every generation is faced with a life-altering challenge. Ours is being told to stay home. We got this.

Introducing Some Good News: John Krasinski and Steve Carell are coming at us with a new YouTube channel titled, you guessed it, Some Good News. It’s fun, lighthearted, and may very well lead this section of our weekly wins moving forward!

Recovery is Occurring: Hundreds of thousands have already started to recover from coronavirus. While India is locked down to prevent overwhelming hospitals and limited resources, this older couple’s miraculous recovery is a shining light of hope.

Wins From the Frontlines

A World of Applause: From Europe to the US, communities across the globe have banded together to applaud their healthcare workers battling on the frontlines. From light flickering in sky-scrapers to that beautiful pic of the man thanking the nurse who saved his wife’s life, humanity continues to shine a little brighter with each passing day. R

Have a personal or professional win that you’re proud of? No matter how big or small, we want to celebrate it. Because these are the stories that will get us through this thing with a little more compassion, a little more inspiration, a little more resilience each and every day.
